As the curtains fall on Gulf Print and Pack 2015, its time to take stock of the work already done and what could be done differently or better.  On the technology front, location, i.e., Dubai World Trade Center, timing of the show - once every two years, duration, it looks like the event planners have got it right.

However, from the feedback received, one point that comes to mind is that exhibitions, expos and events are part of the industry and will need to support the fraternity during challenging times. Cyclical changes are part of any industry and it is during this time that each segment needs to back each other through ‘price freezes’ or offering discounts or value adds.  This would measure up to supporting the industry and sustaining themselves.  Another valuable tip given by participants is to use social media platforms more extensively in creating awareness about the show.

This issue of PrintWeek MEA features an extensive coverage of Gulf Print & Pack, interviews of exhibitors, an interesting feature on the need to regularly assess the financial health of one’s business as a means of ‘preventing your business from facing ill health’.

Our Star Product features software that manages press performance across multiple sites and devices, and the new German folding machine KL 45 from Herzog & Heymann that can fold sheets up to 450mm wide.
