Gidue launches new entry-level label press

Italian flexo press manufacturer Gidue has officially launched its MX entry-level label printing press.

The MX, which was previewed at an open house at the company's factory in Florence, Italy during Drupa, is a cut-down version of Gidue's proven S-Combat series.

In addition to featuring the full belt drive system from the S-Combat, the eight-colour MX uses Gidue's Flower flexo print head; it has a 370mm web width.

Luscher will use Drupa to launch its new 8-page UV CtP system, the XDrum! that has been designed for commercial print and packaging providers.

DuPont to show flexo screening upgrade

DuPont will show a "simple and relatively inexpensive" workflow enhancement for its Cyrel DigiFlow flexo CTP system at Drupa that gives the ability to select the ideal dot structure depending on application.

The launch follows Esko's announcement last week of Pixel+, "an optical, electronic and screening enhancement for HD Flexo imaging to support flat-top dot creation", which the manufacturer said was aimed at partners including DuPont DigiCorr and DigiFlow, MacDermid Lux and Flint NExT.


New Vpak by Goss gets 'unofficial' Drupa debut

Sun Chemical increases product prices by 6%

In manufacturer Sun Chemical has announced an average 6% price increase across its products, due to continued increases in the costs of raw materials and volatility in the supply chain.

The increases, which come just a few days after rival ink company Flint announced a 5% increase across solvent- and water-based and UV inks, will be implemented on 1 December.

According to Sun Chemical, increases will vary due to the different chemical compositions of the products.
