Agfa reveals DuPont Artistri ink deal for Jeti

Agfa closed a successful Fespa by announcing it had formed a partnership with DuPont to use its Artistri ink in the Jeti AquaJet direct to textile printer, which was the centrepiece of the firm's stand.

DuPont's Artistri technology extends the colour gamut, increases throughput and the lowers ink consumption of the AquaJet Pro inks. Availability will be from the third-quarter of this year, with AquaJet users able to switch to these latest disperse dyes ink.

Screen has launched its long- awaited Truepress Jet SX sheetfed inkjet press at Ipex after taking its message of 'Your Wish is our Print on Demand' to the show.

Riso to release 'world's fastest cut-sheet inkjet' at Ipex 2010

Riso's latest cost-effective colour inkjet device, the ComColor, will be launched to the European market at Ipex in May.

Riso said the machine's maximum speed of 150 A4ppm, made it the "world's fastest cut-sheet inkjet printer" and said the ComColor range is designed to fill a gap between high-end production devices and multi-function office-type printers not currently being met by other manufacturers.

HP signs deal with Stratasys to add 3D printing to press range.

Under the terms of the deal, Stratasys will manufacture an HP branded 3D printer. Initially, HP will sell the product in five European countries including the UK, before rolling out the products worldwide.

The HP-branded machines are expected to be similar to Stratasys' Dimension uPrint 'personal' 3D printers.

The 3D machines, which will go on sale in the middle of this year, will be handled by HP's Graphic Services business unit, the division that includes its Scitex and Designjet

EFI claims superwide capability at wide-format price with QS220

EFI Vutek has added a lower cost UV flatbed printer to its range, which pitches it against mid-market machines such as the Oc Arizona, Fujifilm Sericol Acuity, Mimaki JFX and Screen Truepress Jet1600UV-F.

Digitally printed textiles market to grow tenfold, report predicts

The market for digitally printed textiles is to grow in value by nearly tenfold to just under 1bn euro ($1.43bn) over the next five years, according to a new study.

The Pira International report, published in association with Fespa, has forecast the market to increase significantly from the €114.6m ($164.5m) value in 2009.

According to The Future of Digital Print for Textiles: Market Forecasts to 2014, growth in the sector will be driven, in part, by the display and signage market.

Manroland could be set to move into the digital wide-format print market after being granted its 709th patent for ‘inkjet printing apparatus’.

The manufacturer filed for the patent with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and it marks the 709th patent the company has received.

According to industry experts, the print apparatus covers a simplified printhead array for single-pass printing that would be compatible with current and future piezo inkjet heads.

Canon has responded to a low-volume print-on-demand (PoD) market that is “evolving rapidly” with the launch of its new series of imageRunner Advance presses.

New digital presses designed for printers, direct applications

Xerox has launched a brace of digital colour presses, the 7002 and 8002, designed for printers, producing direct marketing, photo and promotional applications.

The presses are capable of 70ppm and 80ppm respectively. They also feature a new low-gloss toner that the firm claimed can produce a smooth matte finish. New printhead aims at wide format, packaging and labels

Fujifilm Dimatix has added the Polaris PQ-512/15 printhead to its Spectra range.

The new printhead is aimed at the wide format, packaging and label printing markets.

It utilises the binary operating capability of Dimatix’s VersaDropTM jetting technology and Q-Clss hybrid construction to deliver drop sizes of between 15 and 30 picolitres through 512 individually addressable inkjet nozzles at frequencies up to 45kHz and fired at a speed of 8m/s.

The 44in Canon imagePROGRAF iPF820 has been awarded an accolade by the Buyers Laboratory Inc (BLI) for its multi-purpose printing capabilities.

The accolade was awarded to Canon as part of BLI’s latest ‘Pick’ selection.

Last year, Canon’s 24in image PROGRAF iPF6100 was also awarded the Spring BLI 2008 ‘Pick’ award.

Océ defies expectations with a first-quarter profit of $20.5m

Strong sales of colour presses have boosted Océ as it reported bullish results for the first quarter of this year, despite the group warning that further cost cutting would be required to meet the “turbulent economic conditions”.

Gulf Print & Pack 2019 ended on a high note as business deals worth millions of dollars were sealed during the bi-annual event.

    The first ever 3D printing conference cum exhibition ‘3D Print UAE’ took place on 17th and 18th August 2015 at Dubai World Trade Centre, UAE which attracted a number of like-minded 3D Printing professionals from over 40 nations.

    3D Print UAE exhibition cum conference is a concept aimed at providing a broad scale platform for the manufacturing sector and consumer world across the ME region. 

    3D Print UAE gave an opportunity for the additive manufacturing experts from across the globe to converge on this regional platform to showcase their solutions, analyze the benefits and discuss the opportunities in the Middle East. It also provided the opportunity for a listen- in to first-hand experience from industry leaders, connect solutions for overcoming challenges in the field, and enhance the brand and  business portfolio.
