The Sharjah based POP printer Al Mithaliyah has decided to invest in its third Durst inkjet press. The Durst Rho 800 HS has been selected for its high speed which claims to increase production by 80%.

Kalima is a non-profit state initiative funded by theAbu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH), which translates, publishes and distributes works of classic and contemporary writing from other languages into Arabic.

Emirates Printing Press in Dubai has been awarded the 2009 CIP4 international Print Production Innovation (CIPPI) Award at Print 09 in Chicago.

Ink manufacturer Torda Inks has moved to a 20,000sqm factory space in Dubai, UAE.

The ink manufacturer will be manufacturing and distributing flexo, gravure inks and paste inks from the site.

Dubai-based Otra-Conrad Jacobson has begun supplying paper to the newspaper, Times of Oman.

Abu Dhabi-based United Printing and Publishing (UPP) have purchased and installed a multi-unit Continent hybrid press line.

The press line – supplied by KBA – became operational in May this year and is said to have cost the company around $27million.

UPP is the third newspaper house in the Middle East to install a KBA hybrid press for coldset and heatset production. The new Continent at UPP is considered to be one of the most advanced newspaper press lines in the region

Publication house says five-colour just right

Tellurian Publication House has installed a five-colour KBA Rapida 75 coater.

This according to KBA's local distributor, Giffin Graphics.

Al Omeira says Ryobi 754D ‘is adding to company capacity’

Al Omeira Printing has installed a Ryobi 754D.

This is according to the technical manager of the Abu Dhabi-based company, Priyadarshi Singh.

The company – which purchased and installed the machine at the start of July – heaped praise on the 754D, saying that it had “added to the company’s capacity considerably”.

Isra Middle East has installed a Heidelberg Speedmaster SM52-2.

This according to the company’s client service manager, Zafar Amerjee.
