Xerox launched its solid ink mulitfunction printer at a glittering event at Yas Hotel, on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.

Branded ColorQube 9200 series, the printer is available in 3 models that can print, scan and copy, with print speeds ranging from 38 to 85 pages per minute.

Dan Smith, general manager, Integrated Marketing Xerox MEA said, “With ColorQube we are unlocking the benefits of colour by applying our proprietary solid ink technology to lower costs and make operations simpler and greener.”

“We aim to capture 15% of the Middle East market with our ColorQube 9200 series.  Users will be able to save about $25,000 over the life-time of the machine, which is between 3 to 5 years.”

According to information received from the company, the ColorQube is a cartridge-free design, which uses non-toxic, crayon like ink sticks which are easy to load and generates 90% less supplies waste as compared to colour laser printers.

To optimise colour quality, the new models are equipped with Adobe pantone spot-colour matching and correction options.

The new model meets the US Environmental Protection Agency’s new 2009 Energy Star requirements.
