Toil & Tinker, Dubai has installed the first six-colour Xerox Iridesse Production Press in GCC. Iridesse is equipped with six toner stations and can print metallic gold or silver dry ink, CMYK and white or clear dry ink in a single pass.

Speaking about the reason for choosing the Iridesse, Paul Green from Toil & Tinker, said, “We started Toil & Tinker four and half years ago. We opened a tiny shop in Dubai Garden Centre with one small printer and 3 employees. I was working in another industry before venturing into printing industry and after resigning from my job I learnt everything from scratch to become a creative and innovative person. We expanded and moved to Al Quoz. We added more equipment to stop outsourcing our jobs. However, after investing in the Iridesse press we gained immense confidence and we have now completely stopped outsourcing any jobs. With the gold and silver metallic inks, the output of this new digital press is awesome and no other machine can match it. I have done an enormous research in the industry before finalizing the Iridesse and none of them could even match closely to this machine. We are a design studio with creativity and with the ability of this Iridesse machine we are receiving excellent outputs. In addition, this machine is particularly designed for creative designers. The Iridesse allows us to do impossible jobs in short time with premium output. The fiery is one great advantage of the Iridesse and with the available options I can edit and print easily, even without a designer.  In addition, I chose Xerox for their great customer service and they deliver what they commit. Everything happened on time starting from delivery, installation and training. I had almost zero downtime for all my Xerox products. They always come calmly and fix it on time. Even the machine doubles our ability. The printing quality of this machine is excellent.”

Speaking about Toil & Tinker he further added, “Our clients are the people who wants us to do wonders and this machine has supported well in all the circumstances. We are a design studio where we create brands and deliver it appropriately and this machine is taking us to next level of growth. We don’t have any sales person; everything is being done through word of mouth. Our quality is getting better and better which is one of the reason we have invested in the Iridesse. The clients who want to have premium products in a short stint always seek us. We always educate people to give better results and this machine is allowing us to attain it easily. Usually, the return of investment for such a big machine is around 5 years but with the capability & functionalty of the Xerox Iridesse press, we are confident that we can attain it in one and half years.”

Speaking about the Iridesse’s ability, Pankaj Kalra, business head, production systems group, Xerox Emirates said, “The pure quality output along with the ease of adding metallic printed embellishments in a single pass is simply amazing.” As per Kalra, the Xerox Iridesse press delivers more "wow" impact per printed page through digital specialty enhancements. It opens up new production-level print application opportunities, including white, clear, silver or gold dry inks in addition to CMYK."

Iridesse redefines digital printing with award-winning Color FLX Technology, which layers CMYK with up to two Specialty Dry Inks in one single, incredibly productive pass – all while maintaining “spot on” registration from colour to colour.

With the ability to run sheets that are up to 47.2" (1.2 m) long in up to six colors – including combinations of Gold, Silver, White, and Clear – Iridesse is the perfect marriage of creative desires with new print capabilities.

Print enhancements are becoming an important product differentiator. They help expand the capability of the commercial printer for a wider print application fulfilment and more offset page transfer.

The new Xerox Iridesse press moves print away from the four colour digital commodity printing and hence the return of investment is quicker and earlier than any equivalent investment in another press. Xerox customers can now benefit from a production press that provides a vast array of capabilities that encompasses all aspects of “why not”.”

Launched in May 2018, the Iridesse was first announced by Fuji Xerox in November 2017. The six-colour device boasts newly developed technologies for colour management and a range of automation. Xerox Emirates introduced the Iridesse Digital Press in Dubai in September and later introduced in Jeddah. They are going to have Oman launch on January 23rd which will be hosted by Bishara (Xerox Authorized Distributor).

Taking a maximum sheet size of 330x729mm, the Iridesse can print auto duplex at speeds up to 120 ipm for A4 sizes and 60ipm for A3-SRA3 sizes. It can take stock weighing anywhere between 52 and 400gsm and print at “ultra HD resolution” of 2,400dpi.
