KSA based government printers buy 8-colour perfecting press

One of the biggest
government printers in Saudi Arabia, Al-Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University (IMBSU),   has purchased a new eight-colour ROLAND 700 HiPrint perfecting press. IMBSU now owns eight Roland presses.
Ibrahim Al Moheimeed, printing press manager of IMBSU said : “It is all because of the short make-ready time, consistent premium print quality, low waste rate, and the high efficiency, that we decided to buy the 8-colour perfecting press.”

Iraqi delegation trains at Print Media Academy

Print Media Academy Cairo (PMAC), held a training, in cooperation with Heidelberg Middle East, for an Iraqi delegation. The training was held in PMAC , in Cairo for 12 days from the 3rd till the 14th of February 2013.

Jordan University in Amman recently installed a Heidelberg Speedmaster SM 52 - four-colour at its University print shop.

Al Nazayer gets new Kluge EHF

Kuwait based, Al Nazayer Press has invested in Kluge EHF, die cutting, foiling and embossing machine.

The EHF features speeds of up to 3,300 impressions per hour and can accommodate up to 381 x 629mm sheets, with a maximum of up to 40 square inches of die area.

It has patented 'Delayed Dwell' technology which allows the EHF to start on impression sooner, bottom out and remain on impression longer doubling impression time with no loss of production speed.

El Yaman foresees huge boom in labels industry in region

Lebanese printer El Yaman Group has invested in a slitter-rewinding-inspection machine, the Jupiter 450, from Prati.

Amman based, Jordan Press Foundation (JPF) has placed an order for double-width KBA Commander heatset press for printing newspapers, semi-commercials and hybrid products.

French newspaper in Lebanon has upgraded

Lebanon based, french publication, L'Orient-Le Jour has signed an agreement with Layout International to acquire the latest workflow solution known as NewsPress.

NewsPress is asoftware designed by Layout specifically for newspapers and magazines, it was learnt. It allows editors, department heads, sub-editors, correctors, production teams, chief editors and designers to log on to a single centralised server in order to process their daily work.

Masterpak, a plastic Polyethylene (PE) film manufacturer based in Lebanon has announced that it will further integrate environmentally friendly practices in its daily operations, it was learnt.
