Amman, Jordan based commercial printers, Central Press has invested in the latest offering from Heidelberg, the 5-colour sheet fed offset press with coater, Speedmaster XL 106. The first such investment from Jordan, XL 106 is the successor of Heidelberg's Speedmaster XL 105 which was unveiled at Drupa 2012.

"The trip to Drupa is a tradition in our family-owned company. I am here with my father, who used to come to Drupa with my grandfather before," said Yousef Hammad, marketing manager at Central Press. "The purchase of the Speedmaster XL 106 is an important investment. We have always attached great importance to the increased development of our establishment.

"Equipped with Heidelberg's state-of-the-art equipment, we are ready to meet the most demanding customer requirements and can easily accomodate to future trends. It is absolutely imperative to provide our customers with end products of highest quality. All our products are being thoroughly inspected, all processes are supervised by the company's quality control department which follows the highest standards of quality control in commercial printing."

Housed in the printshop's 13,000-square meter premises, the XL 106 press will run alongside Heidelberg's Speedmaster XL 105, the Speedmaster CD 102 and the Speedmaster CD 74, say the owners.

Maher Hammad, general director of Central Press and father of Yousef Hammad says, "I am convinced that the new press fits perfectly with the company's wide range of materials, large print volumes, and frequent job changes. What's more, the press' high energy and resource efficiency make it the most environmentally friendly press in its class - one of the crucial factors for the investment decision."
