Printkom (Canon’s distributor in Lebanon) an event which saw over 400 industry professionals converge to discuss the latest trends in the Lebanese book printing and publishing industry. 

The event, aimed at industry players explored the
latest technological innovations as well as trends shaping the local book printing landscape.

Keynote speech was delivered by Professor George Nubar of Helwan University of Applied Arts, who discussed the trends in the region and how this will affect the potential of the Lebanese book printing industry. 

He also explored the relationship between book publishing tools and the future of book printing technology.

Products demonstrated at the event included the imagePress C6011, Oce VarioPrint 6160 Ultra+, varioPrint 110 and  imageRunner 8295 PRO.

Following the event, Printkom announced its first deal including a complete VarioPrint 6160 range with Dar Al-Kotob Al-Ilmiyah, Lebanon. This was followed by Sader Printing Press 1890 signing a deal for a VarioPrint 110.

“In the CAD, GIS and AEC markets, we have continued to see a greater demand for colour technical drawings as well as a shift from centralised output to distributed printing at multiple sites,” said Hendrik Verbrugghe, Marketing Director, Canon Middle East.
