Zebra Technologies has launched new healthcare printers designed to operate in sterile clinical environments at Gitex 2014, adding to its healthcare portfolio.

Zebra has also launched a new mobile printer for specimen collection that will help enhance patient safety in the region. Designed for use in sterile environments, the GK420 Healthcare printer can withstand regular cleanings with disinfecting solutions and allows healthcare professionals to label medications and specimens before and during surgery in the operating room.

“With the addition of
the GK420 and Qln 220H mobile printers to our already robust portfolio of healthcare solutions, Zebra is well positioned to provide a higher level of patient safety and improved staff productivity,” said Pratik Kajaria, territory manager, Middle East. “Whether it’s positively identifying patients, specimens, or medications, Zebra’s
solutions are specifically designed to optimize workflows and improve identification accuracy within healthcare environments.”

The Energy Star certified printers are designed with a medical-grade power supply certified to IEC 60601-1 standards, thereby reducing the risk of electrical shocks.

The Qln 220H mobile printer is lightweight and compact and can be carried on a belt clip or stored on a hospital cart.

Zebra Technologies had acquired Motorola Solutions in 2014.
