Canon Middle East participated in a four day exposition dedicated to the graphic      arts and packaging   industries in Morocco - SIAGRA Africa 2015.

The Canon stand at SIAGRA was divided into four sections - Professional Print, Signage, Photo & Fine Art and Computer-Aided Design & Geographic Information System (CAD/GIS), with each section showcasing a different printing solution.

Hendrik Verbrugghe, marketing director, Canon Middle East, said: “Africa is a key market for Canon. SIAGRA was a fantastic opportunity for us to not only meet with customers and partners but also give visitors insight into the incredible new solutions that are currently being developed by our R&D teams across the globe.

“Canon’s ambition is to be the leading full service provider in the professional and production printing space, across Africa and the world. Canon will invest the necessary resources to enable our growing number of African customers to take full advantage of our innovations in hardware, software and professional services.”

While developed economies remain static or sluggish in 2015, Africa is seen as a growth market.

Ayman Aly, marketing manager at Canon Middle East, said: “In North Africa alone last year, there was a 22% year-on-year rise in projects involving foreign direct investment (FDI). At Canon, we no longer see print as a manufacturing industry, but as a true service sector.”
