Muller Martini enjoyed a positive exhibition experience at Ipex, said company officials, showcasing innovations to post press machines.

Morgana targets high output with Digifold

Digital finishing manufacturer Morgana Systems has launched the DigiFold Pro creaser/folder at Ipex.

The company said that the machine, which can handle up to 6,000 sheets per hour, will set new standards for productivity and ease of use.

As well as running creasing and folding in a single pass, it can act as a stand-alone creaser or perforator.

It uses Morgana's PosiFeed feeding system, which enables it to handle lighter papers and allow feeders to be stacked higher.

Muller Martini showcased its latest innovations at two events in Casablanca.

The manufacturer exhibited its newspaper inserting system, AlphaLiner at WAN/IFRA Afrique trade fair and presented its web offset printing and finishing systems at event hosted by its local partner, Redagraph.

One of the largest printing firms in Abu Dhabi, United Printing & Publishing, recently invested in finishing machines.

One of the machines installed is a lamination machine from Autobond. The 105 cm Mini 105TH model was chosen for ‘lamination of cover pages of magazines’. The laminator can take sheets of sizes from A4 to 105 x 76 cm and paperweights ranging from 90 to 650 gsm. It operates at speed up to 60 meters/min.

New high-speed sheet feeder for corrugated board launched

Suppliers of equipment to packaging manufacturers of corrugated board and flexible material industries, Bobst Group has conceived a new stream feeder.

High speed feeding of nano- and micro-flute corrugated, double wall, and litho-laminated board is difficult.

Manufacturers team up to offer colour print for high-volume mail

Mailing equipment manufacturer Pitney Bowes has teamed up with HP to offer colour printing for high-volume transactional mail.

Pitney Bowes will be using the HP T300 Inkjet engine, which was re-branded from the HP Inkjet Web Press, in its IntelliJet Printing System. The T300 was launched at Print 09 in Chicago this September, but is already available worldwide. Initial installations are expected in early 2010.

Stora Enso has said the paper manufacturing market needs consolidation and that it is willing to listen to suggestions of how to achieve it, as long as the proposition is in the interests of its shareholders.

A stand alone cross cutter for any sheet fed laminator is developed

Autobond has developed a stand alone cross cutter.

Called the CC 76, it can be used with any make of sheet-fed laminator or encapsulator, the first time the manufacturer has introduced a product that can be integrated with competitors’ equipment. The first model was built in the UK and was apparently delivered to a customer in Toronto, Canada in June.

High-volume mailing line can be added to as demand rises

Mailing equipment manufacturer Neopost has launched its latest high-volume mailing line.

According to Neopost, the DS-1200 is a modular machine that can be added to as demand for mailing increases.

It runs at up to 12,000 envelopes per hour, which Neopost said was the highest possible speed while remaining efficient.

New versatile cross cutter by Autoband

A new stand alone cross cutter has been developed by Autobond.

The CC76 – which can be utilised with any make of sheet-fed laminator or encapsulator – is the first machine the company has manufactured for use with competing products.

Duplo will be a step ahead of users’ service needs with a remote tool to speed up maintenance and boost reliability.

The e-tandem software, which will come as standard with its DC-645 slitter/cutter/creaser from September, was launched at Italian print trade fair Grafitalia.

The system monitors the DC-645 and feeds back information to Duplo, which compared e-tandem to engine management systems in cars.
