Finishing equipment manufacturer Kolbus has launched a stripped-down model of its HD153P trimmer, the HD153.M.
The machine is designed for thicker magazines, catalogues and books, where users are likely to be producing more "consistent products".
Kolbus's HD153.M follows on from its flagship HM153P trimmer. It runs at 6,600 cuts per hour and can be attached to any binding line that runs at more than 8,000 sheets per hour.

Packaging materials manufacturer API has announced a 20% price hike across its foil product range after it experienced "substantial" price inflation in the polyester market.

Mailing equipment manufacturer Pitney Bowes has launched the Connect+ Customer Communication Series for 1,200dpi printing on envelopes in the same pass as franking.
The digital franking machines are available in two ranges, the Connect+2000 and Connect+3000, the latter capable of handling up to 310 letters per minute and the former 180.

It is the first software programme that Zund has put its name to and is designed to maximise the productivity of the G3.

Converting equipment firm Bobst has said orders have almost returned to 2008 levels after reducing its pre-tax loss by two thirds in the first half of the year.
The Swiss firm reported sales of CHF560m for the six months to 30 June, up 20% on the same period in 2009. Pre-tax loss fell from CHF81m to CHF27m.
In its trading statement, Bobst said: "During the period, order entries improve significantly compared to 2009 and are close to the level reached during the first half of 2008."

The WrapStar series, which comprises the WrapStar 20 and WrapStar 30, combines paper-wrapping machines with Pitney Bowes software to produce personalised mailings.

Digital finishing manufacturer Morgana Systems has launched the DigiFold Pro creaser/folder at Ipex.
The company said that the machine, which can handle up to 6,000 sheets per hour, will set new standards for productivity and ease of use.
As well as running creasing and folding in a single pass, it can act as a stand-alone creaser or perforator.
