Cosmo Films unveils CPP metallised film for flexible packaging

The Cast Polypropylene (CPP) metallised film offers a superior interlayer bond strength for making multi-layer laminate structures, which in turn enhances barrier properties.
This newly developed metallised film has a High Hot Tack and Low SIT of 96 to 98 degree Celsius, which enables FFS machines to run at a higher speed. Smurfit Kappa has worked with an artist on two eye-catching and creative installations in the Netherlands and Scotland.
The first piece that artist Olivier Grossetête worked on was for ‘Deventer op Stelten’, an outdoor theatre festival to mark the 1250th birthday of the town of Deventer in the Netherlands. His brief was to recreate the Lebuinuschurch, which is an ancient church in Deventer dating back to 768 AD.

Huhtamäki has informed that Petr Domin (52), executive vice president, Fiber Packaging and a member of the Global Executive Team had decided to leave Huhtamaki on August 31, 2018 to pursue new career opportunities. Metsä Group’s next-generation bioproduct mill in Äänekoski reached its nominal capacity in August 2018, according to plan. According to the announcement, this makes Metsä Group the world’s largest producer of softwood market pulp.
The bioproduct mill was started up on August 15, 2017, on schedule and within budget. The start-up phase progressed in line with the target curve. The bioproduct mill produced its millionth tonne of pulp on August 8, 2018.

Smurfit Kappa Group has completed its acquisition of Netherlands-based paper and recycling business Reparenco for €460 million.
SKG said it expected to see savings of more than €30 million with the integration of the recycling firm into the SKG businesses. It is also part of the company’s strategy of increasing its capacity in Europe for recycled containerboard.
