Paper machine crash results in supply issues of uncoated paper

A further squeeze on uncoated paper supplies appears likely following a ‘major incident’ that has put one of Stora Enso’s paper machines out of action for at least six weeks.
The incident involving PM2 at Stora Enso’s Veitsiluoto mill in Finland happened earlier this month.

Epson launches short-run label press L-4533 series

Epson has launched its SurePress L-4533 series of short-run label presses.
The series, which is slated to replace the existing L-4033 series, will be shown for the first time at Labelexpo, Brussels in Sept, and it will become commercially available straight after the show. It is comprised of two models, the seven-colour L-4533AW, which comes with white ink capability, and the L-4533A, which comes without.

Fujifilm Europe has announced it will be increasing the price of its offset printing plates as raw aluminium costs continue to rise.
From 1st September, the Japanese-headquartered manufacturer will be increasing the price of offset printing plates by up to 10%, with the actual increase being passed on to printers dependent on the local market situation.
