Italian flexo press manufacturer Gidue has officially launched its MX entry-level label printing press.

The MX, which was previewed at an open house at the company's factory in Florence, Italy during Drupa, is a cut-down version of Gidue's proven S-Combat series.

In addition to featuring the full belt drive system from the S-Combat, the eight-colour MX uses Gidue's Flower flexo print head; it has a 370mm web width.

The MX is available in two versions. The MX Naked ships with eight print cylinders, one magnetic die and eight anilox rollers.

Meanwhile the Ready-to-Go version ships with an additional 56 print cylinders, seven magnetic dies, four anilox rollers and one varnish roller.

Both models come equipped with one die-cutting unit and a combo laminator in fixed position complete with cold foil kit.

Company added that the low cost meant that the MX would also be suitable for printers looking at a used label press, who could find it easier to buy a new MX with finance.
