Sappi has announced that they will exhibit their environmentally sustainable carton and paper-based packaging solutions for containerboard, rigid packaging, flexible packaging, label papers and functional papers at FachPack in  Germany.

Sappi has recently restructured its containerboard product range adding new products for its corrugated cardboard market. This includes the bright white Fusion topliner as well as corrugating liner & fluting Ultraflute.

Fusion topliner has an "outstanding surface finish" said Sappi in a statement. Fusion topliner also enables significant cost savings when it comes to finishing.

Sappi will also introduce the Ultraflute, a new paper for corrugating liners & fluting containing mostly fresh fibres from semi-chemical pulp.  Ultraflute is suitable for high-end applications, and the paper retains its shape even in damp conditions.

This makes it possible to reduce flat weight compared with existing corrugated board systems and achieves synergy effects with Fusion topliner.

“It is our goal to minimise the use of fossil-based plastic packaging with sustainable speciality papers from renewable, natural raw materials”, explains Kerstin Dietze, marketing manager Speciality Papers. “With our innovative solutions at FachPack, we are positioning ourselves as a partner for creating successful, future-oriented packaging designs.”
