Smurfit Kappa’s innovative new website has won a 2018 Sitecore Experience Award for its outstanding user experience.

The packaging leader’s website was commended by judges for building a ‘truly customer-centric digital environment.’

A central part of the brief was to showcase Smurfit Kappa’s large product portfolio in a logical and user-friendly way. Hundreds of packaging products can now be searched in three different ways and refined by sector and location in seconds.

The new website uses a variety of engaging content, including videos and case studies, to bring information on sustainability, innovation, careers and financial results to life.

The choice of software chosen to build the website was Sitecore, a cutting-edge platform that delivers optimised customer experiences, building loyalty and driving revenue. Sitecore is behind many of the world’s leading websites including Dow Chemical, L’Oreal and Procter & Gamble.

Speaking about the new website, Smurfit Kappa VP of marketing communications, Damian Devaney, said: “This website represents another step forward in our ongoing digital transformation. We are delighted to have received this award but it’s just the start.

“Our website is a living, breathing entity that we will continue to test, augment and enhance over time in line with our digital growth plans.”
