The 20th edition of Sign and Graphics Imaging show was inaugurated by Mona Ghanem Al Marri, director general of the Government of Dubai Media Office (GDMO). Major brands including Agfa Graphics, Cannon Middle East, Flex-Europa, Signtrade, Jacky’s had unveiled some of their latest innovations at the show, though some big names like Giffin Graphics, Saga Digital were missing at this year’s event.
During the inauguration, Abdul Rahman Falaknaz, chairman of IEC stated that, “The 20th edition of SGI Dubai show was our largest yet, as we celebrate 20 years of bringing together the leaders and innovators of the industry. The signage and printing industry in the UAE and the GCC are currently scaling the growth trajectory, due to the large investments by the governments in infrastructure. Furthermore, the growth in large retail establishments and mall are also instrumental in driving this market. As always we are here to support the industry and the stakeholders within the industry through our show. Some best kept innovative industry secrets were unveiled during the show and will further drive the industry.” The SGI Dubai 2017 show hosted seminars and workshops conducted by industry experts. The show had a dedicated pavilion for the Digital Signage industry. The event welcomed over thousands of trade visitors apart from 400 global exhibitors from across 36 countries spread over 22,000 m2 and registered over 40 new exhibitors. The organizers announced that ‘SGI Dubai 2018’ show will be held from January 14th to 16th at Halls 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
