Bahrain based Dar Akhbar Al Khaleej Printing and Publishing House has invested in a thermal CTP from Agfa - the Avalon N8-60XT. The printer was purchased from Giffin Graphics.

New tool for commercial signage in Abu Dhabi to reduce ‘clutter’

The Abu Dhabi Commercial Signage Regulations, which govern commercial signs on buildings have launched a new interactive tool, which it says will make it even simpler for business owners and signage manufacturers to adhere to guidelines designed to enhance the appearance of building fronts and minimise ‘visual clutter’. 

Over 70,000 businesses have applied the regulations since their launch in 2011 and 8,500 new businesses were required to apply the regulations.

Counterfeit products seized in Saudi Arabia

In a survey conducted by HP in Saudi Arabia, it was revealed that 17% of the companies in the country have purchased counterfeit printer cartridges.
Arab News reported prevalence and spread of counterfeit consumables has had a “damaging effect” on businesses in the Kingdom, with “print quality and inconsistency” the leading indicators of counterfeit consumables. 62 percent of businesses surveyed said they only became aware consumables were counterfeit when printers “failed frequently”.
