EFI has launched two reconfigured Vutek HS hybrid flatbed/roll-to-roll printers developed for high-volume out-of-home applications and revamped its cross-media software suite.  The Vutek HS125 F4 and HS100 F4 feature a double CMYK configuration, which boosts their speed to 225 and 190 boards per hour respectively. HP unveils workflow application for wallpaper manufacturers

HP has launched a new workflow application for its Indigo 20000 press that it said will enable wallpaper manufacturers to benefit from the decor opportunities available with digital printing.
The HP Indigo 20000 Digital Press Wallpaper Solution is an optional add-on that HP said will not be available as standard with new 20000s. However, it can be retro installed on any existing machine out in the field, of which there are more than 100, as an additional application.

New Fiery DFE by Xerox & EFI

Xerox and Electronics For Imaging (EFI) have jointly developed a new Fiery digital front end (DFE).

Ricoh is releasing the Ri 100 direct to garment (DTG) printer, which the company will sell as an entry level machine for apparel printing.
Price point for the Ri 100 has not yet been released, but it will be below $10,000, with release date as yet unscheduled, however Ricoh Australia is indicating it will be launched here in May or June.

Epson has unveiled the SureColor SC-F2100, its latest direct-to-garment (DTG) printer, as an answer to calls for greater printing speed on colour t-shirts.

Nettl parent company Grafenia has launched what it says is the world’s first augmented reality (AR) app for fabric displays, BeholdAR.
The app, version 1.0, which is available on iPhones 6S, 7 and 8 and iPads, both with IOS 11.0, enables clients to visualise their designs on fabric exhibition displays in situ. It features 3D models of Nettl’s best-selling fabric displays, including curved and straight displays, deckchairs, booths and cocktail tables.

PV Nano Cell gets DigiFlex

PV Nano Cell announced the closing of its acquisition of DigiFlex, a digital printer manufacturer. The all-stock transaction was valued at $10 million and represents 25% of PV Nano Cell on a fully diluted basis, post transaction.
Additionally, certain shareholders of DigiFlex and its subsidiary, JetCU P.C.B. Ltd., committed to investing $1,100,000 in PV Nano Cell, of which $500,000 has already been invested, and an additional $600,000 is expected to close by the end of 2017.

Ricoh has premiered its first wide-format UV flatbed, the Ricoh Pro T7210.
The T7210 was shown at Viscom Italy 2017 in Milan and will be available to EMEA customers from early 2018. Pricing has yet to be finalised.

Fujifilm announced that its Superia ZD processless plate made its debut at Ipex.
The plate develops on-press, requiring no chemistry, and is suitable for use with LED inks. It was demonstrated live on an eight-colour RMGT 928P LED-UV press at the show held at the Birmingham NEC.
