Mimaki has updated its UV-cured flatbed the JFX, increasing the speed and flexibility and adding a smaller bed size to the range. This series is 80% faster than its existing model JFX-1631 due to a newly implemented post-curing unit.

The JFX-plus machines are available in the original 1.6x3.1m bed size (the 1631) and in a half size 1.6x1.5m model the 1615.

JFX plus series now achieves a maximum print speed of 23.6 sqm/h (300 x 600dpi / 4pass / bidirectional) due to the new standard installation of a post-curing unit, whereby the ink gets a secondary curing after the UV curing.

Also an optional automatic roll unit for unattended and uninterrupted web printing can be obtained for JFX plus series.

Like the original JFX-1631 the plus series uses LED lamps for curing. It can do a UV printing on non-coated substrates up to 50 mm thickness. The printer uses two types of inks hard or flexible UV curable inks for various applications.

Clear ink which is available only in hard UV curable ink is used to provides glossy finish or matte finish.

The Mimaki has developed Eco-Cartridges aiming to reduce waste. In this users have to replace the ink pack inside of the cartridge casing.

Existing JFX-1631 UV LED large format printers can be upgraded to JFX plus series by installing the post-curing and/or roll unit optionally.

The new models will be available from November.
