Xerox launches first five colour iGen5 with expanded features

Xerox has launched its latest digital production colour cutsheet press, the iGen5, which features an expanded colour gamut with an optional fifth colour.

The machine is the first in the iGen range to offer a fifth colour option alongside CMYK. The optional fifth colours are orange, green or blue dry ink.

Xerox iGen worldwide product marketing manager Paul Miller said: “These dramatically increase our ability to match a variety of Pantone stock colours. This helps with brand consistency and minimises any impact on productivity for our customers.

Mimaki doubles its production and targets 3D market

As it celebrates 40 years in business Mimaki is doubling production with a new 84,000sqm factory in Japan.

“We will be able to produce your products even if you order twice as much as you do now. We commit to invest over 7% of our annual turnover,” he said at the Mimaki birthday party earlier this week.

New ‘batch’ technique to speed up colour measurement

A new colour measurement device could dramatically reduce the time taken to check output and create profiles.  The Rapid Spectro Cube is a joint development between German RIP and colour management specialist ColorGate and Spanish colour consultancy ColorInLab. It was shown as a prototype at  Fespa show in Cologne.

Instead of measuring colour patches on a square-by-square basis, it captures an entire colour chart “in seconds”.

    The first ever 3D printing conference cum exhibition ‘3D Print UAE’ took place on 17th and 18th August 2015 at Dubai World Trade Centre, UAE which attracted a number of like-minded 3D Printing professionals from over 40 nations.

    3D Print UAE exhibition cum conference is a concept aimed at providing a broad scale platform for the manufacturing sector and consumer world across the ME region. 

    3D Print UAE gave an opportunity for the additive manufacturing experts from across the globe to converge on this regional platform to showcase their solutions, analyze the benefits and discuss the opportunities in the Middle East. It also provided the opportunity for a listen- in to first-hand experience from industry leaders, connect solutions for overcoming challenges in the field, and enhance the brand and  business portfolio. 

     Steffan Ritt, VP-head of global marketing and communications, SLM Solutions Group commented:  “Since, this is the first kind of event in this region, it has attracted less number of visitors. However, the visitors and participants were more positive.
