Eco-friendly paper products showcased

Papers Worldwide showcased various environmentally friendly range of products from Neenah Papers.

Talking to PrintWeek MEA, Neenah Paper’s director of sales for Latin America, Asia, Oceania, Robert W. de Leon said: “Recently we have launched Think Ink iPhone application in which designers can create custom colour palettes based on favourite colour of picture from phone’s camera. They can match these colour palettes with our papers and then order the samples directly.

“There are also applications available for Blackberry. The Eco-calculator application can be used to calculate the environmental savings from using paper made with post consumer fiber as well as the savings from using paper made with 100%

Orient Links to market green products in MEA

Dubai based paper distributor Orient Links participated in Paper Arabia this year promoting their eco-friendly range of products.

Talking to PrintWeek MEA, managing director, Sanjay Misra said: “We showcased bagasse based (which is sugar cane waste based) papers from TNPL. These are renewable raw materials with minimum impact on the environment. We are also focusing on deinked pulp based papers which are 100% recycled products from Khanna Papers.” Orient Links also exhibited

Kodak showcases new products at Ifra 2009

Kodak has introduced an upgraded version of the thermal platesetter and a new digital plate at this year’s Ifra Expo, held at Vienna, Austria.

Company officials claim that the thermal platesetter has been enhanced with improved features like a smaller footprint, additional automation options and the latest technologies for minimal service and maximum uptime.

The product is available in three speeds, ranging from 80 to more than 150 plates per hour to suit newspaper-printing

New Goebel machine to increase 5,000Mt capacity for converter

Sharjah based, paper converter, Paper Master FZC and International Papers FZE participated in Paper Arabia, highlighting their new conversion 40,000 square feet factory and merger.

Talking to PrintWeek MEA, managing director, Anwar Jessa said: “We have received very good response from the exhibition. We have signed 3 new customer deals. Two with Indian companies and one in Nigeria.”

The company has installed a new converting machine from Goebel which is expected to increase

Labelexpo Europe 2009 is upon us

    The first ever 3D printing conference cum exhibition ‘3D Print UAE’ took place on 17th and 18th August 2015 at Dubai World Trade Centre, UAE which attracted a number of like-minded 3D Printing professionals from over 40 nations.

    3D Print UAE exhibition cum conference is a concept aimed at providing a broad scale platform for the manufacturing sector and consumer world across the ME region. 

    3D Print UAE gave an opportunity for the additive manufacturing experts from across the globe to converge on this regional platform to showcase their solutions, analyze the benefits and discuss the opportunities in the Middle East. It also provided the opportunity for a listen- in to first-hand experience from industry leaders, connect solutions for overcoming challenges in the field, and enhance the brand and  business portfolio. 

     Steffan Ritt, VP-head of global marketing and communications, SLM Solutions Group commented:  “Since, this is the first kind of event in this region, it has attracted less number of visitors. However, the visitors and participants were more positive. Overall, the show went fairly well for us but we would have been happier if the organizers promoted the event well in advance.”  SLM Solutions were one among the gold sponsors of the event.

    Most of visitors commented that these kinds of exhibitions and conference should be encouraged to create more awareness about the 3D printing in this region.
