Canon to focus on advice and applications at this year's IPEX

Canon has doubled the space it is taking at Ipex 2010 compared to 2006 and will focus on business development tools and applications, including the publication of its third Insight study.

"We're not dominated by product launches, there's no need we have a full portfolio," said Mark Lawn, Canon Europe professional print solutions marketing manager. "Customers are telling us that they need support and not endless product launches.

"Ipex is about providing a springboard to profitable new opportunities. Market research is important for Canon and our customers."

The third Insight study was carried out by Professor Frank Romano and his students at the Rochester Institute of Technology. It asked 840 printers, 65%

Digital to dominate pex with 28% space

Digital print is set to dominate this year's Ipex show after organisers confirmed that the technology had overtaken litho's footprint at the forthcoming Ipex.

Speaking at last week's Ipex Media Summit in London, the show's event director Trevor Crawford revealed that digital manufacturers and suppliers would take up 38% of the NEC's floorspace compared to the 26% reserved for presses.

Gandinnovations will be participating in SGI this year with five printers. They will exhibit the 3 meter wide direct to fabric printer Aquajet RTR, Jeti 3348 UV Jetspeed RTR, Jeti 3150 X-2 UV flatbed, Agfa’s Anapurna UV indoor and outdoor sign printer and Jeti T-shirt printer.

The 3324 Aquajet printer uses 6 colours with 24 spectra heads and prints with 60 sqm per hour speed. The printer is equipped with an in-line infrared fixation system for knitted or woven polyester fabrics.

Adobe to focus on emerging ME market with new office in Dubai

Adobe participated in Gitex this year with live demonstrations on CS4, Flash, Dreamweaver as well video productions solutions like Premiere, After Effects, SoundBooth and OnLocation.

    The first ever 3D printing conference cum exhibition ‘3D Print UAE’ took place on 17th and 18th August 2015 at Dubai World Trade Centre, UAE which attracted a number of like-minded 3D Printing professionals from over 40 nations.

    3D Print UAE exhibition cum conference is a concept aimed at providing a broad scale platform for the manufacturing sector and consumer world across the ME region. 

    3D Print UAE gave an opportunity for the additive manufacturing experts from across the globe to converge on this regional platform to showcase their solutions, analyze the benefits and discuss the opportunities in the Middle East.
