Though price factor rules in every business - print or otherwise, collaborative relationships with suppliers is another important aspect that cannot be undervalued.
Though price is important because every one has a budget, but price is not the be-all, end-all factor in the upward graph of the business. Printshops need to differentiate between suppliers offering same quotes.  Often supply chain partners can offer innovative solutions and economic efficiencies since they stand to benefit from the prosperity of their channel partner.  This is especially valuable during times of economic stress.
In an already competitive market, it is increasingly difficult to secure new accounts, and as a result sales efforts are targeted at existing customers. An often seen benefit of a long term supply chain collaborative relationship are the cost savings that result from routine procedures and repeat job orders. A tried and tested supply chain relationship usually leads to reduced operational and logisitic costs.
