Main sponsors of Paper Arabia 2015, Saudi Paper Manufacturing Group participated in the eighth edition of the expo, showcasing its range of products - from hygiene and tissue papers to recycled papers.
Abdul Rahman Al-Utaibi, shared services, general manager said: “The parent company manages 3 companies - Saudi Paper Recycling and Wastes company, Saudi Paper Manufacturing and Saudi Paper Converting company. We began as a small branch of an individual establishment in 1989. Our first production line was installed in 1992 at a production capacity of 16,000 tonnes. Now we have grown to 137,000 tonnes capacity per anum. Now, along with exports into the GCC, we also have affiliated companies in Arab countries. Our branch in Sharjah, UAE is a trading office. We also plan to sell to Western nations. We have fully-owned subsidiaries throughout the Arab world specializing in waste paper collection to help in the achievement of Saudi Paper Recycling company’s strategic objectives of continued growth and supply chain integration.”
Saudi Recycling company maintains collection centers in various cities around Saudi Arabia. Starting out with one production line and 16,000 tonnes capacity, the company has grown to 10 production lines and 137,000 production capacity and 2 de-inking plants.
Adds Al-Utaibi: “We are proud of our recycling operations that contributes to conserving the environment, however it can sometimes be challenging. Paper prices are like the stock market. In 2014, price of paper made from virgin pulp was lower than the recycled version, and for consumers price is a factor that determines their buying decisions. However, we have many clients that are committed to buying recycled products.”
