Toil & Tinker takes GCC’s first six-colour Xerox Iridesse

Toil & Tinker, Dubai has installed the first six-colour Xerox Iridesse Production Press in GCC. Iridesse is equipped with six toner stations and can print metallic gold or silver dry ink, CMYK and white or clear dry ink in a single pass.

Speaking about the reason for choosing the Iridesse, Paul Green from Toil & Tinker, said, “We started Toil & Tinker four and half years ago. We opened a tiny shop in Dubai Garden Centre with one small printer and 3 employees. I was working in another industry before venturing into printing industry and after resigning from my job I learnt everything from scratch to become a creative and innovative person. We expanded and moved to Al Quoz. We added more equipment to stop outsourcing our jobs

Agfa ME to focus on JETi-Mira LED

Agfa ME to focus more on Middle East and Africa with their JETi-Mira LM, a UV LED curing flat bed printer.
 Speaking about the JETi-MIRA, Som John, GM of Agfa ME, said, “JETi-Mira LM, is an award winning & versatile UV LED curing flat bed printer. It can virtually print anything and even on all rigid substrates with strong adhesion of inks and wide colour gamut. In addition, it can print on flexible substrates with the usage of RTR option. Four Kuwaiti newspapers to go off shelves

Four leading Arabic newspapers have announced their joint decision to go off shelves for economic reasons. Al-qabas, Alrai, Aljarida and Alanba agreed to grant their personnel a day off every Friday, which means that their print papers will not be available for readers on Saturdays. The four daily Kuwaiti newspapers said that their sizes would also be changed early February to cut costs. They announced that their online digital Arabic papers would continue operating everyday as usual.

Masonlite plans to focus more on the latest technology equipments

Masonlite, Dubai has planned to focus in exploring the metal industry with latest technology equipment like Fibre Laser, CNC Routers, and many more.

    The first ever 3D printing conference cum exhibition ‘3D Print UAE’ took place on 17th and 18th August 2015 at Dubai World Trade Centre, UAE which attracted a number of like-minded 3D Printing professionals from over 40 nations.

    3D Print UAE exhibition cum conference is a concept aimed at providing a broad scale platform for the manufacturing sector and consumer world across the ME region. 

    3D Print UAE gave an opportunity for the additive manufacturing experts from across the globe to converge on this regional platform to showcase their solutions, analyze the benefits and discuss the opportunities in the Middle East. It also provided the opportunity for a listen- in to first-hand experience from industry leaders, connect solutions for overcoming challenges in the field, and enhance the brand and  business portfolio. 

     Steffan Ritt, VP-head of global marketing and communications, SLM Solutions Group commented:  “Since, this is the first kind of event in this region, it has attracted less number of visitors. However, the visitors and participants were more positive. Overall, the show went fairly well for us but we would have been happier if the organizers promoted the event well in advance.”  SLM Solutions were one among the gold sponsors of the event.

    Most of visitors commented that these kinds of exhibitions and conference should be encouraged to create more awareness about the 3D printing in this region.
