What does the machine do?

It is a die cutting and foiling machine. The main advantage with this machine is its speed. Comparing with competitors we are getting 7,500 sheets per hour speed. We can use the grammeges from 80 to 2000 gsm. The other machines we looked at were having gsm range up to 1,400 gsm only.

Why did you choose this particular machine?

We choose this machine because of Bobst's history and brand value in the die cutting machines and long life associated with it. We are using this machine mainly for commercial work like posters, magazine covers etc.

Did you look at other similar machines? And which ones?

We looked at Heidelberg Varimatrix 105 which was the main machine among the short listed ones. Also looked at some other machines available in the market.

Which features do you particularly like?

The main features of this machine are its speed and possibility of using high gsm boards. Also the program in the machine which helps us to use the unused area between the two dies is an important feature.

Is there anything you dislike or wish it had?

When we placed the order the hologram attachment was not there. It came later on and it can be retrofit on the machine. It will give additional value to the machine.

How fast is it?

The machine speed is 7,500 sheets per hour.

How reliable is it?

It has been reliable since installation in 2010.

What is the quality like and what kind of response have you had from your clients?

We had no complaints and our registration has been accurate.

How easy is it to use?

Many options are automatic and the same operator who was using the manual machine is able to operate it.

How much time or money has it saved?

We have saved lot of time as previously we used to send the jobs outside.

Would you say that it offers value for money?

We have invested about AED 4.5m with this machine and it offers value to us.

Were there any difficulties experienced during the installation or after?

Bobst has a very strong team in ME. They had finished all the preparation before the arrival of the machine. Installation was complete with zero accident in five days. There were following up after the installation as well.

Has it won you any new work?

We had limited magazines contracts but with this new installation, we could get more orders.

What about the pre- and after-sale service?

Bobst gave us many documents of best practice methods for foiling and die cutting. This helped us in many ways.

Who do you think it is suitable for?

It is ideal for commercial printers because it has many hot stamping and foiling features with additional die cutting option. It is good for printers looking for high level jobs.

Under what circumstances would you buy another?

With increase of our production we can go for another one. We have four sheetfed presses but we have space to increase up to 11 presses. We are looking forward to increase our business with exports as well.

Hot foil stamping can be done on a wide range of materials: paper, cardboard and plastic sheets. It has an external foil supply module including 3 foil advance shafts which ensure high flexibility and performance in setting and running the foil. We have a special Bobst software for the automatic calculation of foil advance which ensures an optimization of foil pull and reduction of foil consumption.
