Other: CEO of Jafza opens Kimoha's new manufacturing facility

Dubai based self adhesive labels and flexible packaging printer, Kimoha Entrepreneurs saw opening of its new manufacturing plant in Jebel Ali on 21st November 2011. The event saw attendance of 150 people consisting of suppliers and family members. Chief executive officer of Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority and Economic Zones World Salma Ali Saif Bin Hareb did the rope cutting cremony at the new plant. H.E. the consul general of India, Sanjay Verma was also present at the event.

Talking with PrintWeek MEA, managing director of Kimoha, Vinesh Bhimani said: "We have a total land of 20,000 sq.mtrs with built up area of 18,000 sq.mtrs. of which warehouse measures to 8,500 sq.mtrs and remaining consists of factory, office, including dining rooms separate for workers and staff, meeting and conference rooms,meditation room, fitness center etc."

Talking about the specialities of the new plant, chairman of the group Kiran Asher said: "We have used airconditioning equipments that use R410A refrigerant (unlike usual alkyl halide refrigerants) which does not contribute to ozone depletion. Some other environmental friendly measures include use of skylight in warehouse and other areas to reduce the use of electric lights, use of water efficient fixtures, use of airconditioning condensate water for irrigation, movement and occupancy sensors in the office etc."

The company is also recycling 95% of plate-making solvent and have converted photopolymer plates from 1.7mm to 1.14mm in order to reduce carbon footprint by 17%.

Kimoha expects that the added facilities will boost the company's production capacity by 25%. "With further investments in new technology slated for next year, Kimoha expects production to enhance by a further 25%, which will enable the company to accomplish the requirements of clientele much faster and more efficiently," said Bhimani.

Kimoha was established in 1988 with five employees. The company has now 240 employees. The company specialises in narrow web flexo printing up to 8 colours with in house CTP facility. They can convert over 150 different materials and adhesives.
