Top Story: Charting the progress of print through IPEX 2010
IPEX 2010 promises to be a watershed event.
The advent of prominent events like IPEX or Drupa stimulates debate even amidst corporate pre-occupations with most people often speculating on hearsay.
This time round though much has been said about the reduced floor space by exhibitors especially from the traditional offset manufacturing sector or increased muscle power of the digital manufacturers or higher numbers of Chinese exhibitors.
While statements like these are a matter of statistics, the crucial point here is that industry events like IPEX will be showcasing latest technological developments around the globe, integrated and automated machinery (a particular favourite in the ME region), with hundreds of experts at hand and under one roof to answer every question.
The onus lies with the printer to visit as many booths and interact with as many professionals as possible.
As the Editor of PrintWeek UK, Darryl Danielli says, "Go to the show and ask six different people about where they think the future opportunities lie in print and how they can be applied to your business, and if after your visit you haven't come back with at least one idea that could be of benefit to your business let me know. After all, information and inspiration are free, so come May make the most of it in Birmingham."
