Giffin Graphics, a leading distributor of printing equipment in the GCC, hosted a two-day event to showcase end-to-end solutions for textile printing. The show that took place on October 28 and 29 at Downtown Dubai saw about 150-170 visitors according to Alexandre F Najem, manager, machinery division, Giffin Graphics.

The show's highlight was the HP Stitch series, which was launched at Fespa in May this year and brought to GCC one-and-a-half months ago. The HP Stitch series are dye-sublimation printers targeted at sportswear, fashion, interior décor and soft signage. The series consists of 64-inch HP Stitch S300, 62-inch HP Stitch S500 and 126-inch HP Stitch S1000. Equipped with HP SmartColor, the machines can print on transfer paper and direct-to-fabric providing colour consistency.

Ernest Azzam, regional business manager - LFP, MEMA, said: “The Stitch series guarantee better quality from the first print itself, reducing the cost as well as print waste. They provide great colour calibration, be it the florescent required for sportswear or both-side colour absorption.”

“Dye-subs have a strong base in the fashion and sports wears, while décor is relatively low. The demand in soft signage segment has been increasing due to the ease of installation. Fashion still remains the most popular industry for the series, which are doing well in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait,” Najem said.
