Dubai-based large format printer, Brand ME Advertising has invested in new router from Woodpecker. The machine was sold by Masonlite, who is the distributor.
Talking to PrintWeek MEA, director of Brand ME, Farook Ummar said: "We predict market to take its peak in the coming years and now it's the right time to invest and prepare ourselves for the best. Market has started taking a positive turn after few years of global crises and hence an update was needed in our production setup.
"One of the main function we liked is that the machine has the capacity to save the jobs executed. This makes it easy for the operator to redo the job without exporting the files again and thus saving man-hours for the company. It can engrave on wood, acrylic, PVC, ABS, etc. and can be used for engraving advertising sign, acrylic letter, architectural model.
"We are currently serving other Gulf countries like Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Bahrain by using associate partners for installation purposes in field of Signage, Exhibition Stands, Digital Printing, Display Stands and Branding etc. Our next POA will open a branch in KSA followed by others. We have seen a growth of 15 to 20% compared to the turnover and growth rate of 2011," he said.
Talking about impact of financial crisis on advertising he said that it has created healthy competition and many small timers had to shut down due to the crunch. "We have always considered recession as an opportunity to restructure ourselves for the best to come. Advertising, especially BTL (Below the Line) is an interesting and consistent market. No brand can survive without advertising as there is immense competition between all sectors of the market.
"With initiatives for mega structures in the country, Real Estate picking up and with the help of foreign interest in investment, the market is set to take the upward trend in the coming year," he said.
