Konica Minolta has announced the launch of its Clean Planet Recycling Program simplify the recycling process of consumables for its customers, reported The Recycler.
The programme includes partnering with a “leading global recycler of imaging consumables” to ensure a “zero landfill waste” policy, with returned consumables processed in an environmentally safe and responsible manner without any cartridges being sent to landfill or incineration.
The manufacturer also announced that all materials returned for recycling are reused to create new materials using material separation processes, enabling all consumables to be processed, extracted and recovered for reuse.  The retrieved consumable materials will be recycled to to be made into other useful products such as asphalt and plastic modifiers.
Konica Minolta has also created an end user online portal for order processing, pre-labelled UPS boxes, online ordering and tracking, and online reporting. A spokesperson from the company said that Konica Minolta was committed to environmental initiatives that focus on saving energy, managing resources and promoting policies that make a difference
