
Distributors of a range of print media, laminating, mounting, computer aided signage from Belguim based MACtac, Al Shabak Trading have announced that their principals have been working to comply with the forthcoming REACH requirements by progressively replacing ‘Substances of very high concern of the authorization list’ by suitable alternatives. As from 15/06/2014, all products manufactured by MACtac will be free of any heavy metals based pigments and will therefore be fully compliant with the REACH regulation coming into force in 2015.
Vishy PR, general manager Al Shabak Trading said, “REACH is the European Regulation for registration, evaluation, authorization and restriction of chemicals, that has come into force in June 2007, with the aim of improving and protecting human health and environment from the risks that can be posed by chemicals. Being aware of these obligations as a downstream user of chemical substances, MACtac Europe has followed the REACH process since the publication of a white paper in 2001 and is fully complying with the current regulations. Other aims of REACH are the promotion of alternative test methods, the free circulation of substances on the internal market.
