Caraustar Industries recently announced a price increase of $45 per ton on all uncoated recycled paperboard and container board grades and $50 per ton on all coated recycled paperboard grades.

The increase on uncoated recycled paperboard and containerboard grades will be effective starting with shipments on September 8, 2015 and the increase on coated recycled paperboard grades will be effective starting with shipments on August 24, 2015.

Caraustar said the increases are in response to increasing costs, including fiber, chemicals and other raw materials, and labor and benefits.

Caraustar Industries is an integrated manufacturer of 100% recycled paperboard and converted paperboard products.

In February this year, Caraustar completed the acquisition of the Newark Group, manufacturers of recycled paperboard, linerboard and other converted products including book covers and packaging solutions. The Newark Group has approximately 1,500 employees and operated from 20  manufacturing facilities across North America.
