Gimpex, representing wide range of papers from mills in Europe, South America and Southeast Asia has launched a new range of static papers product, E-TAG printable film for the Gulf countries.
E-TAG is manufactured by ‘specifically structured’ statically charged polypropylene film. For printing purpose, it has a porous coating which is capable of absorbing the printing ink on itself.
Elias El Wadi, general manager, Gimpex said, “E-TAG has no adhesives on it. It adheres to any smooth surface with stable static charge and can be printed in offset, digital printing or even with a multitask office printer.” E-TAG is attached to a paper backing layer which supports it while in printer, this layer is peeled off after printing. Additionally, Gimpex has re-launched ‘Commander- premium letterhead paper’, produced using EFC cellulose, acid free with alkaline reserve apparently imparting longer shelf life. Wadi says, “ Commander is excellent with offset, screen and lettepress processes with conventional inks. It is laid, wove and Lenin felt-marked available in seven colours and FSC certified.”
Gimpex also has speciality grades like Gmund, Fabriano, White Gold, Zanders, SIHL (Tear Resistant Paper) etc.
As per Wadi, “The market in Middle East has been facing a lot of difficulties especially since the UAE market is open to free trade. Allowing too many small traders to accumulate in our market creating a supply over demand situation. We expect improvement in 2014 due to the result of many mills closing down or reducing the production capacity that shall stabilize the demand and supply ratio.”
