Other: Prismat starts digital business with Mgi Meteor DP8700 buy
Qatar based, Prismat Advertising has chosen Mgi's Meteor DP8700 XL digital printing press as its first printing machine.
Talking to PrintWeek MEA, executive director, Shiju Thomas said: "We have started the printing and advertising division six months ago and this is our first printing machine. We chose this machine particularly because we liked the output quality and its ability to print on range of substrates like paper, plastics and envelopes."
Company is catering to the short run digital market and provide the solutions for brochures, envelopes, business cards as well as certificates with variable data printing. "We generally deliver the jobs within 2 to 3 hours. We also do printing on PVC which are used for ID card applications," he said.
The Meteor DP8700 XL can print up to 4,260 A4 pages per hour with a resolution of up to 3600 dpi. It can take paper weights between 70 to 350 gsm and plastics from thicknesses between 100 to 400 microns.
The press can print on recycled paper and Mgi claims that prints are deinkable. It uses dry, silicon free toner with ability to swap on-the-fly without interrupting the production.
It also has a dedicated touch screen with built-in substrate library, which automatically adjusts all the print settings inside the engine to optimise the printability of each substrate.
Prismat Advertising is a part of Altech Aluminium and Steel which operates in Qatar and specialises in the field of construction and fabrication.
