Other: Tolerans launches entry-level stitching system, Compact Stitch

Stitching equipment manufacturer Tolerans has launched CompactStitch, an entry-level in-line stitching system specifically designed for printing operations that haven't had the possibility to incorporate in-line stitching before.

The Swedish manufacturer claims the ribbon stitcher is only half the size of a traditional stitcher and is ideal for stitching newspapers, inserts and commercial print.

The system offers cross-web stitches at up to 60,000 copies an hour and is equipped with an easy to use control system that includes a compact touch screen. The compact touch screen is only 100 x 80 mm from where you manage basic functionalities such as on/off, wire on/off and circumferential adjustment. It includes a counter and has an alarm indication with error codes.

Jan Melin, chief executive at Tolerans, said: "Being the most innovative stitching company in the world means listening closely to the market and we have noticed an increased demand for in-line stitchers for certain presses where there hasn't been enough space for a traditional stitcher and where only basic functionality is needed."

"We are proud to have developed CompactStitch, a stitching solution with basic functionality which makes it an affordable solution for printing operations that haven't had the possibility to incorporate in-line stitching before." Company claims that it's compact in size, extremely easy to use, and the low investment ensures a fast return on investment.
