What does the machine do?

It is a Swing Cylinder Press for screen printing with 102 x 71 cm size. In this type of machine cylinder rotates in reverse forward direction. After the substrate registers cylinder rotates in forward direction and printing takes place. There after cylinder rotates in reverse direction to pick up the next substrate, simultaneously screen returns at from position and flood coater moves down.

Why did you choose this particular machine?

We had similar machine but semi automatic version. We realised the limitations in terms of production and it required more man power compared to a fully automatic system.

Did you look at other similar machines? And which ones?

We visited their factory in India to see the live demo. I was impressed with their command over screen printing technology. I signed off an order on the spot for the press, inline UV and complete screen making set up, without having to waste time in doing research.

Which features do you particularly like?

Machine has a antistatic system with sticky rollers with which we can improve the overall performance and quality of printing. The feeder is designed to use variety of substrates and it can be set to single sheet mode or overlapping mode.

Is there anything you dislike or wish it had?

No, nothing.

How fast is it?

Cylinder screen press is faster than the flat bed machines with print speed of more than 3000 imp/per hour. Previously with manual machine we could do only 500 sheets per hour.

How reliable is it?

All cylinder Press customers receive assured intense training on machine operation and use of its various features Company also provides skilled operators who are trained at its institute DMI, thus it has been reliable operation.

What is the quality like and what kind of response have you had from your clients?

Until now print buyers are mostly familiar with print finishing in terms of spot UV (matt and gloss). But what Grafica's institute DMI revealed me was the whole world of special effects printing. Print buyers have less knowledge about these special effects. So, we have to go extra mile to show various possibilities to our customers.

How easy is it to use?

With Cylinder Press now we can have a 24 hour production schedule. Cylinder Press is most advanced technology in screen printing.

How much time or money has it saved?

As the machine is fully automatic now, we have increase in productivity. We could save increase the production by 4 to 5 times.

Were there any difficulties experienced during the installation or after?

No

Has it won you any new work?

Yes, now we are planning to have special effect jobs with reflective inks. Also we will be doing shopping bags with special varnish effects.

What about the pre- and after-sale service?

We get technical support/troubleshooting on ongoing basis just not in terms of machine but executing new innovative jobs as well.

UV print finishing applications for value addition on packaging and offset printed jobs.
