Other: Nilpeter to exhibit flexo offset, inkjet machines

Nilpeter has introduced innovations for offset, flexo, and integrated inkjet printing to be demonstrated at LabelExpo Europe 2011.

Nilpeter will demonstrate its MO-4 offset platform press controlled by a Press Management Center (PMC)and designed to optimise the offset functions for faster setups. It also has three 17-inch touch screens that allows operators to control UV-curing, electronic registration and remote ink control, say the manufacturers.

Nilpeter will be exhibiting the UV-Flexo Press, FB-3300S, which runs with the revolver die system, based on the SMED concept (single minute exchange of die) that allows operators to 'load successive solid tooling, or magnetic flexible die plate cylinders, into the module and index them within seconds'.

The manufacturer will also showcase the modular Caslon press that combines conventional printing and converting with CMYK inkjet printing. The CASLON single-pass InkJet module uses Xaar's 1001 greyscale printheads for variable data printing on the fly, or printing single copies of full-colour labels. The FA-3 UV-flexo units can print varnishes, solid colours, and/or white opaque inks for filmic labels, backed by inline web finishing, to a maximum web width of 340 mm (13 inches). InkJet speeds vary from up to 50.7 m/min. at 180 x 360 dpi to 12.6 m/min. at 720 x 360 dpi resolution.
