Other: Sixth edition of print awards to be hosted on 8th Feb 2012

Printing and Publishing Group (PPG), under the auspices of Dubai Chamber of Commerce announced the launch of the 6th Dubai International Print Awards (DIPA) at a press conference. The annual award ceremony will be held on 8th February, 2012 at the Grand Hyatt hotel in Dubai.

The chairman of PPG, Ahmad Bin Hassan Al Shaikh said that DIPA will invite entries from printers in the Middle East region, South Africa and Asia. PPG's aim, according to him, was to bring the regional print industry to a global level in terms of quality, knowhow and reliability.

Al Shaikh said, "DIPA offers a unique platform of recognition to the industry veterans in the region, who have excelled in quality, technology and sustainability standards. This year we have added a new category, named Narrow Web (UV/flexo), in addition to the 17 categories under offset and 7 under digital."

The entries would be judged by an eminent panel of print professionals including Nicholas Jung, Hemant Randive, Eduard Neufeld among others.
A new member on the panel of judges will be Saad Aldosarry, consultant and trainer of printing technology, KSA.

Hassan Al Hashemi, director, external relations, Dubai Chamber said, "As part of our commitment to support the business community in Dubai, we are pleased to endorse the sixth round of the prestigious award.PPG has been the most active of all business groups operating under the umbrella of Dubai Chamber."

The event will be sponsored by Khaleej Times and Heidelberg as Gold Sponsors, PrintWeek MEA, Canon, Giffin Graphics, Prestige Graphics and Xerox Emirates as Silver sponsors, and Dainippon Screen, Neenah Paper, Kodak and Presstek as Bronze Sponsors. In a latest development, PPG has procured the support of 3 new sponsors- Nilpeter, Gimpex, Gulf Print and Pack 2013, bringing the total number of sponsors to 14.
