Other: Al Borg reap advantages with Canon's VDP print technology
One of the largest private medical laboratory in the Middle East, Al Borg Medical Laboratories has reported a substantial improvement in its service delivery following the deployment of Canon's print and Variable Data Publishing (VDP) solutions including imageRUNNER and imagePRESS print machines.
Says Dr. Ahmed El Saifi CEO, Al-Borg, "With thousands of patients requiring comprehensive medical analysis reports, we needed a system that will effectively manage our document management and printing requirements. Canon and ETCO came up with the perfect solution and it has allowed us to provide high quality personalised medical reports while also streamlining our process and cut costs substantially."
ETCO, Canon Middle East's distributor in Egypt implemented a VDP solution that enabled the laboratory to streamline back end printing jobs including customised medical reports for individual patients.
The solution entailed the installation of four units of imagePRESS C1+, two units of Canon's imagePRESS C6000, two units of imageRUNNER ADVANCE PRO 9060 all integrated with a Canon VDP solution.
ETCO provided customisation to match the laboratory's specific requirements. With the system in place, Al Borg staff are able to provide high quality personalised medical reports for patients.
"Our Variable Data Publishing (VDP) solution automates the process of generating & printing the combined patient analyses in one booklet containing charts representing equivalent results, personalized newsletters from the lab related to the patient's analysis as well as customized third party advertisements. This provides the much needed scope of enabling cost efficient personalised communications with customers," added Ahmed Fathy, professional print solutions sales director, Canon ME.
