Other: Digital media sector in GCC surges by 18% in Q1 2011: AIMS report

Advanced Interactive Media Solutions (AIMS), the Middle East partner of SCALA noted that there is a surge in demand marked by an 18 per cent growth of the digital media sector in the GCC in Q1 2011 compared to Q4 2010, a growth trend driven by the strong ROI of digital signage solutions.

AIMS recently installed the first state-of-the-art digital menu board at the latest location of Taco Bell in Kuwait, within the Shaab Area, with installation in more branches in Kuwait already underway.

Ahmed El Ridi, CEO said, "We are pleased to provide specialised services that help business organizations in the GCC take full advantage of the power of interactive digital signage solutions. The installation of the Taco Bell digital menu boards demonstrates a number of strategic advantages of digital signage solutions, including attention-grabbing displays; reduced costs associated with printing and shipping of the traditional menu boards; and greater efficiency by allowing content to be remotely updated and monitored from an off-site location."

AIMS was commissioned by Kout Food Group, the exclusive franchisee of Taco Bell within Kuwait, to install the SCALA solution that allows menus and related promotions to be updated instantly using High Definition content to run on 42-inch LCD screens installed in the restaurant. Content is being managed and controlled by Kout Food Group’s IT personnel, enabling quick updates as often as needed and schedule offerings based on time of the day, special event, occasion and season of the year.
