Other: GEBO upgrades plant with new installations
Egypt based publishing house GEBO has ventured to upgrade its printshop with two Heidelberg installations. The publisher, with 24 outlets in Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia, KSA and Jordan, has invested in the SM102, 4-colour 70-x100 press this year, in addition to the SM 2-colour press purchased in 2010.
Dr Ahmed Mujahid, top honcho at GEBO said, "This first installation serves GEBO's objective in achieving higher accuracy and better quality. Relying on Heidelberg in shifting from CTF (computer to film) to CTP (computer to plate) has many benefits: a substantial reduction in preparation time of the OK Sheet, tremendous increase of quality, and the reduction of plates and paper waste. Also, with this addition, linking the Heidelberg pre-press process with printing process allows GEBO to achieve integrated printing. Our team of engineers and technicians in the printing section said that the machines enhanced the quality of our publications."
Among the other machinery owned by GEBO (founded in 1971) are the risograph digital printing machine, the Stahlfolder binding system, perfect binder and stitching machines.
