Other: Youssef Allam shoulders CSR by revamping educational institute

Cairo based Youssef Allam & Co were presented with the Appreciation Award by Dr. Mohamed Sabry, Dean of Helwan University's Faculty of Applied Arts, in a special ceremony.

The award was given in appreciation of its Corporate Social Responsibility programme, under which Youssef Allam undertook to revamp the University's main lecture hall.

The company installed a new data show, added students' chairs, storage cabinets and an instructor desk. New floors were laid, walls painted, curtains hung, lighting units and electrical sockets fitted to benefit 40 students every year.

During the ceremony, Dr. Mona Abu-Tabl, head of print media section, presented her plans for improving education in the faculty.

She highlighted the positive impact of the long-lasting support of Youssef Allam & Co. through the regular donation of technical publications, educational media, organization of specialized seminars, hiring of section's graduates as well as assisting in post graduates research.

This ceremony was attended by Eng. Hamdy el-Kobaisy, executive director of Printing & Media at ETP, who stated that "it's amazing how this revamping created such an encouraging educational environment to students and staff alike." He added that added that 165 students from all grades would benefit from the refurbished facility, in addition to 35 staff members.

Established in 1948, Youssef Allam is the sole distributor of Heidelberg in Egypt and owns a paper-converting factory, Papyrus, which they claim to be the largest in the Middle East in operations and distribution.
