Agfa launches process-free printing plate Eclipse

Agfa introduced Eclipse, a “convenient process-free” printing plate for sheet-fed commercial printers that combines all the benefits of process-free technology with effortless printing.

Eclipse eliminates the need for a processor using chemicals, reducing printers’ capex and prepress costs. It, however, distinguishes itself from other process-free plates as this drop-in is just as easy to use as a conventional plate.

Heidelberg adds opaque white to its new Gallus label presses

Heidelberg launched a brace of new units for its Gallus label presses which add opaque white embellishing and rotary die-cutting capabilities. Both units debuted at Labelexpo in Brussels last month.

The first is the Digital Printbar, an inkjet printing unit designed for digital insetting of opaque, digital white that is compatible with a range of Gallus machines. The second, a rotary front-loading die-cutting unit, will be showcased on a Gallus Labelmaster Advanced.
