MEPCO reveals financial health

The Middle East Paper Company ‘MEPCO’ has announced its financial results for the second quarter of 2017. Net profit increased from AED 3.13 million in the first quarter to AED 17.82 million in second quarter of 2017, representing an improvement of 459%.  
Commenting on the announcement, Sami Safran, CEO of MEPCO, said: “We’re pleased to announce a strong performance in Q2 2017. MEPCO has shown consistent growth in both revenues and returns on a yearly and quarterly basis. Recent profit growth has been driven by focused strategic market and product distribution, which led to improved average selling prices, as well as by cost optimization and other controlled factors. Canon launches new imagePROGRAF PRO-6000

Canon Middle East has launched its new 12-colour 60-inch large format inkjet printer to complete the  imagePROGRAF PRO series. The PRO-6000 offers photo printing with a 12-colour ink system, dual-roll printing and   is now available in 60 inches.     
Suitable for advertisements, graphics and posters for indoor and outdoor use, the PRO-6000 features the newly developed LUCIA PRO pigment ink and transparent Chroma Optimiser ink.

SGI Dubai organizers are more positive with the exhibitiors

SGI Dubai organizers announced that they have sold out 57% of the total capacity even before 5 months prior to the show. The 2017 edition of the show welcomed over 400 global exhibitors from across 36 countries spread over 22,000m2 and registered over 40 new exhibitors.     The first ever 3D printing conference cum exhibition ‘3D Print UAE’ took place on 17th and 18th August 2015 at Dubai World Trade Centre, UAE which attracted a number of like-minded 3D Printing professionals from over 40 nations.

    3D Print UAE exhibition cum conference is a concept aimed at providing a broad scale platform for the manufacturing sector and consumer world across the ME region. 

    3D Print UAE gave an opportunity for the additive manufacturing experts from across the globe to converge on this regional platform to showcase their solutions, analyze the benefits and discuss the opportunities in the Middle East. It also provided the opportunity for a listen- in to first-hand experience from industry leaders, connect solutions for overcoming challenges in the field, and enhance the brand and  business portfolio. 

     Steffan Ritt, VP-head of global marketing and communications, SLM Solutions Group commented:  “Since, this is the first kind of event in this region, it has attracted less number of visitors. However, the visitors and participants were more positive.
